Open Biology Lesson on Hearing

8882 group students go on introducing their researches on the topic “Senses”. The open lesson was now devoted to hearing. The students Mariam Minasyan, Sona Sargsyan and Liana Amirjanyan initiated the open lesson, their teacher Nelly Grigoryan and the head of Biology Department Narine Qsajikyan supported them in organizing it. The students had invited a specialist, Lusine Babayan, who’s a lecturer at ASPU and an audiologist at “Arabkir” JMC. The open lesson was very interesting, it was full of surprises and useful information. The students and guests had the opportunity to see the natural preparations of middle and inner ear components. Then they could see the eardrums of each other with the help of a special device, 4watched a video showing how an ear catches sound waves and sends signals to the brain, which processes them and perceives as a voice, they had the opportunity to recognize the limits of the audible and the inaudible by their own experience with the help of sound waves of changing frequencies. Hearing impairment was also discussed, hearing aids were introduced, some information was also given on ear and hearing hygiene, particularly on how negatively noise influences hearing. At the end of the lesson the students introduced a game-quiz, which helped to sum up and check how their friends had understood the topic.
