The students met a puzzle: they had to bring out the central idea with the help of the given connections. When the students were introduced the directions of the trans-disciplinary theme, they tried to choose appropriate concepts, justifying their choice. The target elements of the learners’ profile, attitude and skills were selected in order to keep them in the center of attention during the whole research and to work towards their development. The students’ prior knowledge was revealed when they mentioned familiar materials and objects made from them. The learners got acquainted with the properties of materials with great interest.
So, the doors of the fascinating world of materials are open to the second graders.
