Lyceum student Anetta Baloyan was the only high school student participating in BigSkyEarth conference in Italy and in IAU Symposium 325, who presented an individual report. The report gained excellent reviews and was published on simposium website, along with reports of scientists and experts.
“The topic of my report was “Informatics in Armenian schools, introductory information on Astroinformatics teaching”. In my report I included all the steps that are taken to give Information Technologies knowledge to students, to educate them, because life in our times in impossible without basic IT skills” – told Anetta Baloyan.
Everything began with Anetta’s participation in Byurakan Science Camp, her victory and the award – a telescope. Then she joined Armenian virtual observatory team and started to work with them. Afterwards, Deputy Chair of Byurakan Observatory Areg Mikaelyan suggested Anetta Baloyan to write and report and present it at the conference. “Time was really short, but I was able to develop an abstract and now I am satisfied both with my report and with the amount of knowledge I got there. I learnt about Astroinformatic’s achievements, what is going on in this field and what are implications for the upcoming decades and most importantly, world leading scientists shared their knowledge”-told Anetta.
