  • January
    • The Lyceum delegation, represented by principal Ashot Alikhanyan and public relations officer Ani Yeghiazaryan, is participating in the Round Square School Principals' Symposium (RS Head's Symposium, London 2020) in London.
    • As part of the Round Square exchange program, the Lyceum hosts Derin Algul, a student from ENKA Schools Istanbul, Turkey.
    • Tamar Aleksanyan, the head of the scientific methodical center, and Ani Harutyunyan, the head of the psychological center, conduct a series of seminars on the topic of "Learner-centered learning" for the teaching staff of the special educational complex for children with hearing impairment in Yerevan.
    • Every year, all students of the subject group "Experimental Sciences" of the diploma program carry out a joint research work (GROUP 4 PROJECT), the purpose of which is to develop collaborative, research skills and exchange the knowledge and abilities acquired in each subject. This year, the research task of the PS students was to find out how the change in the height of the terrain affects our organism and the environment.
    • The memorial day of the poetess Silva Kaputikyan is celebrated in the Lyceum. students, teachers, pedagogues are watching the video recording of the meeting with the poetess in 2001 and the matinee performance dedicated to her in the ceremony hall. The Director of the Educational Complex Ashot Alikhanyan tells memories about the poetess. He especially mentions that Silva Kaputikyan is the first intellectual who was awarded the Lyceum's medal "For impeccable services".
    • Lyceum teachers who are members of the working groups for development of standards and programs of general education of the Republic of Armenia participate in the seminar of the Ministry of Education and Culture entitled "Evaluation and sample test tasks", which is conducted by international experts.
    • Jeffrey Stanford, a researcher from the University of Leicester in Great Britain, visits Shirakatsy Lyceum. In order to carry out research on English teaching preferences, classroom practices, teacher skills, as well as English teaching policies in the education system, she meets with a group of English teachers and students in the Lyceum.
    • The school celebrates International Education Day.
    • The Armenian Army Day is celebrated in Primary, Middle and High schools of the Lyceum.
    • The students wrote letters and greeting cards in advance and sent them to the soldiers.
    • Students of the Diploma Program organize a festive event dedicated to the Armenian Army Day. The students learn about the military path of Hrant Aghabekyan, the military leader of the Lyceum, by watching the biographical video, and the hero of the Artsakh war, Suren Galstyan, tells about the army, military life, at the end, the guest sends his message to the future soldiers. "And let everyone know that our name is the Armenian Army."
    • The delegation of the Lyceum, represented by the Director of the Lyceum Ashot Alikhanyan and RS representative Ilona Hovasapyan, is participating in the "Round Square" World Association of International Schools South Asia and Gulf Regional Conference (AGM of South Asia & Gulf Region - 2020) at the Singapore International School in Mumbai, India.
  • February
    • The Center for Media Initiatives hosts the fourth-graders of Shirakatsy Lyceum Primary School, who get to know the Media.am team and talk about the work of journalists and editors. They play the Media War game with media literacy specialist Lusin Grigoryan, listen to episodes from the "Encyclomedia" podcast with journalist Aren Melikyan and record a conversation about what news the schoolchildren read and why they are interested in it.
    • On the initiative of the Shirakatsy Lyceum Development Fund, within the framework of the "We Are Us and Our Students" project, a meeting is held in the library with Karen Sargsyan, a 1995 graduate, consultant on management and development issues, employee of the development consulting company "Penta", who tells the audience about her achievements and the way she came to be. about the role and significance of the Lyceum.
    • The Lyceum celebrates the feast of Saint Sargis, the intercessor of lovers. Romeo and Juliet, Quasimodo and Esmeralda, Othello and Desdemona, Saro and Anush meet in the banquet hall (organizer: pedagogue Marine Hovhannisyan). In the courtyard of the educational complex, the students are greeted by "Saint Sargis" riding a white horse, as well as salty donuts, a bowl full of flour with a symbolic mark of a horse's hoof, which are inseparable from the holiday.
    • The high school student council organizes a game in the popular "What, Where, When" format in the Lyceum. 4 teams of 4-6 players participated, whose captains were teachers, and whose members were students. Sona Hakhverdyan, a student of the 12th grade, composed the questions, organized and conducted the game.
    • As part of the anti-bullying activities, a debate is held in the middle school (group 734) on the topic "A student who bullies should be removed from school immediately", which is conducted by group 914 in the format of "examining mentors".
    • The birthday of Hovhannes Tumanyan, the traditional Armenian poet, and the book festival are celebrated throughout the educational complex. Senior and junior Lyceum students present books to each other, present their favorite books.
    • In the Department of Natural Sciences, students who love biology are playing "Biomania". The game was created by the efforts of Gevorg Petrosyan, head of the biology club, YSU lecturer, graduate of the Lyceum, and his students. The artistic design of the game was carried out by Silva Harutyunyan.
    • 7th grade in the library at the initiative of the art chair within the framework of Book Day events. a meeting-lecture entitled "Conversation about the notebook" is held for students, led by Lilit Vardumyan, an artist, employee of Matenadaran, author of children's educational programs and instructional manuals for miniature painting, representative of the parenting community.
    • At the initiative of the Department of Armenian language and literature in the Lyceum, the traditional Mother Language Day is celebrated with great pomp, with the inscription "Mother language, mother university-100, mother Lyceum-30". The celebration brought together the students of the 100-year-old YSU Culture Center and the students of the 30-year-old Lyceum. The guest of honor of the ceremony is the songwriter Sasun Paskevichyan, the introduction and program of the Armenian language and literature teacher Arpine Khechikyan. The students of the theater theater studio of the Lyceum present miniature paintings in different dialects of Armenian (director: Garik Ghazaryan).
    • On the initiative of the Shirakatsy Lyceum Development Fund, the Carnival holiday is celebrated in "Jans" restaurant. During the charity party-evening, the "Lanterns" ensemble, our students wearing the traditional costumes of Lusik Agulets, and our teachers and educators showing the fashionable clothes of Taraz.am shine with their splendor. The evening is completed by Vahagn Hayrapetyan's jazz trio.
    • On the initiative of the Russian Center of Science and Culture of Yerevan, the 5th graders of the middle school combine the Russian lesson with the largest one-day scientific campaign in the world, "Open Laboratory", "which not only tests the knowledge of the participants, but also talks about the latest scientific achievements" says Yulia Kuznetsova, researcher at Lomonosov Moscow State University.

    • In connection with the war situation, under the leadership of the General Director of the educational complex Ashot Alikhanyan, the military council, the Victory Committee, is formed and begins its work in the Lyceum.

    6. In order to provide material support to the Defense Army, the Lyceum donates the 24-seater МАЗ 256 bus of the Lyceum to the army, the employees of the Lyceum transfer the money of two months of the trade union to the army account. The Lyceum also opens a special account, to which all the money transferred will be used to meet the needs of the army and the people of Artsakh (donations are made by making a transfer to Haybusinessbank's account number 1150018007437454, the beneficiary is the Deputy Director of the Lyceum and the president of the trade union Gagik Torchyan).

  • October
    • The Lyceum students host Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos), a prominent hero of Artsakh.
    • Hovhan Mkrtichyan, a student of the 8th grade of the Middle School of the Lyceum, who came from Canada, sends a letter to the people and government of Canada, asking to condemn the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh and Armenia. The student informs about Artsakh being an ancient Armenian settlement with reliable historical facts. "Azerbaijan calls this 20% of its territory, we call it Home." - this is how Hovhan ends his letter.
    • Primary School students of the Lyceum write letters and send them to our soldiers fighting at the front.
    • The students of Lyceum's Middle School, taking advantage of the vacation, organize a fundraiser in the center of Yerevan for the humanitarian project of the Pan-armenian Fund "We and our borders".
    • 74 children from Artsakh are hosted in the Lyceum in Primary School 18, in Middle School 43, in High School 13 students. Tatev Ohanjanyan is also one of the students from Artsakh who came to the Lyceum with a picture of his father's last bell shirt. Tatev is the daughter of Davit Ohanjanyan, one of the first graduates of the Lyceum. It was written on the shirt.     • We are deeply saddened to learn that Aren Mehrabyan, a hero from the Lyceum, was killed in a merciless battle against the enemy.
    • The teaching and learning process of children from Artsakh is organized in the Lyceum.
    • Within the framework of the "Moral Support to Wounded Soldiers" project, the Student Council of Shirakatsy Lyceum presents the first video of the "STEP TO VICTORY" video series. Eva Vardanyan (11th grade) performs "Dance of Vagharshapat" by Arno Babajanyan. "Let the long-awaited VICTORY will be announced with the magical sounds of A. Babajanyan's music."
    • As part of the project "Moral support to wounded soldiers", the Student Council of Shirakatsy Lyceum presents the second video of the video series "STEP TOWARDS VICTORY".     • Lusine Gharakhanyan, the Minister of Education, Science and Culture of the Republic of Artsakh, was hosted at the Lyceum to learn about the activities of the educational complex and to discuss possible options for cooperation and support.     • 12th grade student Nare Petrosyan wins the Republican Olympiad of the Armenian language and receives a 3rd place diploma.
    • The works of 7th grade students Asya Gabrielyan, Natalie Balayan, Davit Vardanyan and Maria Margaryan were sent to the international painting competition "Celebration of Folk Art From Around The World" organized by KC Public School RS member school of India. They received certificates of participation.

    • The Art Department presents a virtual exhibition of the works of the 8th grade students under the title "Folk Art". As a member of Round Square, the students of the Lyceum participate in the international painting competition "Celebrating the Folk Art of the World" organized by KC Public School in India.
    • The Lyceum delegation, represented by high school students Elen Khachikyan (IBDP 1), Sona Hakhverdyan (IBDP 1), Neha Matthew (group 1016) and English teacher Nona Atoyan, is participating in the online RS Postcard from Appleby College meeting organized by students of Appleby College in Canada. This meeting was organized within the framework of the "Zoom around the World with Round Square" initiative.
    • Artsakh Day is celebrated in the Lyceum.

    • Middle School students are organizing an online charity concert with all proceeds going to wounded soldiers. As a result of the service programs (exhibition-sale, online concert) held under the title "Become a New Year's magician, give a smile..." more than 1 million drams were collected, which is transferred to our wounded soldiers and the money is transferred to the Rehabilitation Center of the Defender of the Fatherland ".
    • With the initiative of Hasmik Tadevosyan from the Lyceum, the process of collecting corks becomes continuous, as a result of which it becomes possible to provide a wheelchair to those who need it.
    • The concert-commemoration of junior Lyceum students under the title "Motherland, My Armenia" is taking place. Artistic director and group director, singing teacher of the Lyceum; Maria Galstyan. The guest of the concert was the composition of the girls of the "Agape" chamber choir.
    • The Director of the Lyceum, Ashot Alikhanyan, addresses the Lyceum community with a New Year message.
