The RA Ministry of Education makes a decision to name the educational center National College.

For the first time, the Lyceum organizes the first competition of the "Club of Joy and Ingenuity" (КВН).
The theater studio of the Lyceum is founded under the leadership of Garik Ghazaryan. The first performance is being staged, Vardan Achemyan's "Khorosho" miniature painting.
The song "Cilicia" is adopted as the temporary anthem of the Lyceum.

The management of the Lyceum meets with Catholicos of National Armenian Vazgen 1 in the cathedral of the ''Mayr Ator'' of St. Etchmiadzin with a request to provide an appropriate specialist to teach the theology subject of theLyceum. Students are accepted in three directions: engineering, physics and natural sciences.

• The emblem of the Lyceum and the corporate style of the Lyceum are being formed (author: artist-designer Hrach Aslanyan).
• American senator Wayne Owen and American-Armenian businessman Vahagn Hovnanyan, who arrived in Armenia in connection with the Armenian independence referendum, visited the Lyceum accompanied by the lady and got acquainted with the activities of the educational institution, staff and students.
• A charity evening is held at the "Armenia" hotel. exhibition of students' painting works, performance of the choir. Famous actors, famous intellectuals: Luiza Samvelyan, Rafael Kotanjian, Armen Khandikyan, Artur Utmazyan, Hakob Avetikyan, Garik Altunyan (Vice President of "Tushpa"), Hrachik Gevorgyan (Union of Entrepreneurs of Armenia) are participating in the evening.

As part of the delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Armenia, the deputy director of the college Arpine Papazyan and 5 students of the Lyceum are visiting the national schools of Lebanon.

• The collegium of the RA Ministry of Education makes a decision to name the educational center "Anania Shirakatsy General Education Lyceum".
• The educational course is organized in the heated building of "АрмНИИМАШ" scientific research winter institute.

The theater studio of the Lyceum (director Garik Ghazaryan) is staging Garik Ghazaryan's play "The Christmas Tree and the Red Hat" as the premiere.
